Xiaomi’s Mi 5c is very special phone because it contains company’s own SoC .ie. Surge S1 which is Xiaomi’s first in-house processor. Surge S1 is new octa-core SoC which is built on the 28nm process and runs up to 2.2GHz. The Xiaomi Mi 5c sports a metal unibody, and is priced at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 14,600). Xiaomi Mi 5c Specifications
Xiaomi Mi 5c is the first device that has been powered by the company’s own SoC, Surge S1 processor, which is coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone features a 5.15-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) curved glass display with a pixel density of 428ppi, 64GB inbuilt storage, and supports dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) cards.
The Xiaomi Mi 5c runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8, and have a 2860mAh battery with fast charging support. As per the company, the device will be upgradable to Android 7.1 Nougat. The Xiaomi Mi 5c’s fingerprint sensor is underneath the Home Button in the front. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C, a 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. The Xiaomi Mi 5c measures at 144.38×69.68×7.09 mm, and weighs 135 grams.
Xiaomi Mi 5c sports a 12-megapixel camera with large 1.25-micron pixels, an f/2.2 aperture, and LED flash. At the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture, and 27mm wide-angle lens.
The company has not revealed its plans to launch Mi 5C in other markets as of now. Let’s see if the company come up with any plan soon.
