You are also going to need a computer, adapter, or specialized phone, and keep in mind that some VoIP services only work over your computer or a special VoIP phone, while other services allow you to use a traditional phone connected to a VoIP adapter.

There are many benefits offered by the VoIP service and which are reasons as to why you should get a VoIP phone. You are going to want to be aware of these benefits so that you can know all the advantages that it stands to offer you.
For one VoIP uses substantially less bandwidth than a traditional telephone call and is consequently more cost effective. There are however several other benefits as well, such as the fact that you will get a simplified infrastructure. With VoIP on your network, you will no longer need separate cabling for your telephone system.
You will also greatly reduce your operating costs, because a VoIP exchange is based on software rather than hardware so it will be much easier for you to alter and maintain. These are just a few of the many benefits you will receive by making the switch.
